Article 2.01: Immediate and Unconditional Currency Union Upon entry into force, the New Member States shall unconditionally and immediately adopt the Euro as the sole legal tender, ensuring no internal currency differences exist within the federated Union.

The amendments reflect a more balanced and adequate adjustment to the articles that ensure that both the tax payers of the union do not feel cheated, or that their funds are misused without certainty or return of investment. Additionally, the amendments reflect a desire to learn from the mistakes of the past and provide stable ground that dissuades financial crises from forming.
